Location
Catholic Youth Summer Camp 2013 will be hosting our seven summer sessions located at four camp sites. Session locations are indicated throughout the registration process. Camperships
Many well-deserving Catholic families approach us each year requesting financial assistance so that their children may attend CYSC. Since CYSC is not a profitable venture, we must rely on the generosity of individuals, pastors, and parishes to meet these requests. Please consider your ability to assist those in need by offreing a tax deductible gift to help us fund these special requests. THANK YOU!
Campership application is included in the process of registration for CYSC.
Health and Safety
Each week of camp will be staffed with on-site certified First Aid Personnel and a Registered Nurse. The facilities at Camp Otyokwah, LMC, Woodland Lakes and Pleasant Hill Outdoor Center have been inspected and approved by local Health Departments. All swimming activities will be monitored by certified Red Cross Lifeguards. The nearest hospitals, are each located within 25 minutes of camp.
Camp Staff, Counselors, and Clergy
All Camp staff, counselors, and clergy must comply with CYSC, Inc. Policies and Guidelines. Counselor to camper ratios preserved in small groups are 1:8-10 (counselors include high school seniors and college students). Staff, counselors, and clergy over the age of 18 have on file a Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification (BCI&I) background check and have attended the “Protecting God’s Children” workshop. Through formal application, interviews, and references, all CYSC counselors, programming staff, and clergy have been determined to be persons of excellent character and reputation. All of the above mentioned will participate in the CYSC counselor and programming staff training program.
Camper Group Requests
Participating campers will be assigned to a small group of 8-10 campers (same grade) with a counselor (same gender) for their stay at camp. Campers will have the opportunity to request placement with their friends by means of a specific request, which this year, is attached to the online registraton. These requests will be met on a first come, first served basis.
