Catholic Youth Summer Camp was founded in 2001 as a parish initiative to help young people “live the adventure” of their Catholic faith.
What started in 2001 as one week of 50 campers has grown into a full summer of sessions serving the Dioceses of Columbus, Cincinnati, and Toledo!

Over the past 12 summers CYSC has touched the lives of over 3500 campers and has most recently made advances into the active service of young people with special needs.
In 2007, CYSC was incorporated in the State of Ohio as a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation under the direction of Bishop Campbell. Since incorporating, our Board of Directors has worked to position the camp for long-term future success.
The Sean P. Reed Memorial Endowment Fund has been established with The Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Columbus to help provide for the long term needs of CYSC, Inc. and to provide camper scholarships.
CYSC is a high adventure camp that includes many high adventure activities. In addition, nightly Club includes inspiring talks, hilarious skits, moving dramas, and teen testimonies related directly to the theme of the camp. “Many parents tell us that their children come for the jet skis and leave talking about their faith,” says former Board Chair, Jason Shanks.
CYSC is aligned with the goals and components of youth ministry as set forth in “Renewing the Vision” (the Catholic Church’s blueprint for the continued development of effective ministry with young and older adolescents published by the USCCB, 1997) and seeks to enhance and support parish based youth ministry and catechetical programs.
